Group Fitness Instructors

  • Aida Sefic

    Aida is a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering major with a German minor. She is certified as a personal trainer by SCW Fitness, and she has a group fitness certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. After playing organized sports in high school (volleyball), she found an interest in continuing her healthy lifestyle by lifting weights and joining group fitness classes. Aida has been inspired by previous group fitness instructors and hopes to inspire others to lead an active and healthy lifestyle through motivation and an open dialogue with her classes.

  • Allison Reid

    Allison completed her yoga teacher's training at a local yoga studio, Kashi Atlanta, in the summer of 2007 and has been teaching yoga for several months. Her training at Kashi Atlanta qualified her for national certification, and as a result, Allison is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance. Trained in Raja Yoga (Classical Yoga), Allison incorporates traditional elements, such as breath work and one-pointed focus, into her yoga classes, whether the classes are designed for a yoga studio or a gym. Her love of yoga and the potential yoga has to heal others has inspired her to pursue restorative yoga certifications in the future as well as an education and career in physical therapy. Allison is happy to have joined the GIT FIT team and is excited to share yoga with the Georgia Tech community.

  • Dana Rohrig

    Dana has been teaching Pilates since becoming certified in 2000. She studied under Master Pilates instructor Ramona Kryzanowska in New York, who studied directly with Joseph Pilates. She also holds a mat certification through Power Pilates. She loves teaching at Georgia Tech because the clients are so eager to learn and be challenged. Her outside interests are walking, photography, and her baby daughter, Gracie.

  • David Silver

    David earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech in December, 2002 and is currently pursuing his MBA from the Business School at Georgia Tech. He is a former Varsity Swimmer for the GT Swim Team and is now a professional triathlete focusing on Olympic distance triathlons. David teaches Indoor Cycling and will answer any swimming, biking, running, or triathlon questions you have.

  • Diane Dutcher

    Diane is fourth-year Psychology student with a minor in Architecture. She is certified as a personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and holds a Group Exercise Certification from SCW Fitness. She coaches a youth soccer team through the Atlanta Youth Soccer Association and understands how to make exercise and fitness fun for everyone! Her interests include running insanely long distances, reading Runners World inspirational stories, photography, learning tennis, and exploring Atlanta. She absolutely loves teaching GITFIT classes and challenging her class participants to push themselves to think about fitness as an fun and integral part of their daily lives.

  • Elyse is a third-year psychology major. She is currently teaching the GRAVITYgroup class. In addition to teaching GIT FIT classes, Elyse enjoys long runs and staying active with sports and other outdoor activities. In teaching the GRAVITYgroup class, Elyse hopes to help others realize and obtain the many benefits of daily physical fitness and dedication to a healthy lifestyle.

  • Georgia Braxton

    Georgia is the Administrative Assistant for GT Student Government. She graduated from Allen University with a B.S. in Business Education and had nine hours of graduate school in Student Personnel Services from University of South Carolina. She has taught step classes at Georgia Tech for 10 years. However, Georgia really enjoys Water Fitness Classes, which she has been teaching for 4 years. She is certified by SCW Fitness for Water Fitness. She has been married for 12 years and lives with her husband, Greg Braxton, in Dallas, Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running marathons, and hiking. She has completed 7 marathons.

  • Hope Holley

    Hope works in the School of Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering as the Administrative Secretary. She enjoys teaching anything from body toning to cardio blast. She has been teaching aerobics for 17 years. In her free time, she enjoys singing and spending time with her 5-year-old daughter Ava Hope.

  • Jeremy Levison

    Jeremy is a graduate of the University of Arizona and a MBA student at KSU, but grew up and still remains a diehard GT fan who sweats white and gold (proof of this can be witnessed in his indoor cycle class). Certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) earlier this year, Jeremy is working diligently to become a staple in the indoor cycling community. When not teaching cycle, he enjoys making mixes for his upcoming cycling class and running to recently made musical medleys. Jeremy is very much looking forward to this upcoming semester (GO JACKETS!!) and is filled with excitement to be teaching GIT FIT classes. His one request when taking his classes is to give 110%!

  • Judy Lorier

    Judy is an Accounting Manager for Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is certified through Hydrorobics and has taught both shallow and deep water classes for 8 years. Making people physically fit through exercise and fun is one of her passions. She enjoys aerobics, walking, boating and reading as well.

  • Larissa Woods

    Larissa graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Health Promotion and Education. She is a life member of Alpha Phi Omega and currently works for GTRC as a Senior Secretary. In her spare time you can catch her in the gym working out, dancing in a Belly Dance class, or picking up various GITFIT classes. She tries to provide her participants with a class that has a lot of variety and is challenging to all levels, and her favorite part of teaching is the opportunity it gives her to meet new people.

  • Lindsay Speicher

    Lindsay is a second-grade teacher by day and an indoor cycling instructor by night. She is certified in indoor cycling through Schwinn and AFAA. She is heavily involved with her church (Buckhead Chruch) and enjoys leading a small group and helping out with Sunday services. Her other interests besides cycling and her church are running, hiking, outdoor biking, reading, and eating at new restaurants. She has always loved cycling and tries to give her class a fun energetic workout that pushes their cardio endurance.

  • Marcia Chandler

    Marcia is the Program Manager of the Executive Masters in International Logistics Program with the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. She teaches STEP aerobics and toning classes and she enjoys developing fun, innovative choreography. When she is not exercising, working, or walking her dog, Storm, she sings with the Grammy Award Winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

  • Meredith Hillard

    Meredith is a graduate from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She started teaching fitness classes at UGA and has been teaching for several years. She is certified in Group Exercise, Indoor Cycling, and GRAVITYgroup. Due to her new full-time job, she doesn't get to teach as much as she would like, but she enjoys teaching and participating in just about any group fitness class. Currently she is teaching GRAVITYgroup.

  • Patricia Russell

    Patricia combines more than 25 years of choreography, dance, Pilates and yoga in her teaching. A New York native, Patricia earned a BA in Dance and Psychology from Brooklyn College. She later earned a MA in dance Education from NYU. She studied and taught yoga, meditation, stress management and alternative healing modalities at the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy for ten years. The common thread of Patricia's teaching is her ability to find a way for everyone to feel good, move and discover their inner sanctuary.

  • Rebekah Webb

    Rebekah is enjoying life in Atlanta while her husband, Ben, is completing his PhD in Mathematics at Georgia Tech. She teaches interval, cardio kickboxing and Back to Abs. She loves the extra energy that working out brings to help her keep up with her three little ones at home-- Arryana (5), Hazel (3) and Avery (1). She enjoys spending time with her family and all the fun they have together; it's just a non-stop party!

  • Richard Welling Jr.

    Richard is Georgia Tech alum with a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics. He is a certified and licensed orthotist with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and is currently working on his prosthetic residency. He has been a conditioning coach for the Georgia Tech Men's and Women's Varsity Swim Teams, as well various amateur and professional athletes. He is also a Schwinn-certified cycling instructor at the CRC.

  • Stephanie George

    Stephanie is a graduate student at Georgia Tech pursuing a Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering. She is certified by the Aquatics Exercise Association (AEA) and Moms in Motion. She has been teaching Water Fitness for 5 years and pre/postnatal Water Fitness for 4 years. Currently, Stephanie is teaching Water Fitness H2O Extreme and always looks forward to learning, exercising and having fun!

  • Tiffany Sorensen

    Tiffany is a Social Worker for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Her passion is in health and wellness and she loves teaching a wide variety of classes including Yoga, Pilates, Kick Boxing, and Boot Camp. In her free time, she enjoys scrapbooking, outdoor activities, and collecting stories for Tahitian Noni International. She's "Feelin' Groovy All The Time"!

  • Yvonne Smith

    Yvonne is the Assistant to the Chair in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISyE). Yvonne began teaching fitness classes five years ago, and is a certified AFAA Primary Group Fitness Instructor. She enjoys teaching body toning, interval, and Get on the Ball. Her favorite is Get on the Ball because there is so much you can do with the stability ball--from cardio, strength, and toning to Pilates and yoga. In her spare time she enjoys reading, and taking other people's fitness classes, as well as spending time with her friends and family, especially her children.
