Eligibility For Participation

  • Faculty/staff must join the Campus Recreation Center (CRC) in order to participate in G.I.T. FIT classes that are held at the CRC. A few of our classes meet for a limited period, so participants can purchase the amount of entrances required for the class. All membership payments are made at the Member Services Desk prior to registration. For more information on eligibility to participate in the GIT FIT Programs or to download a Membership Application, please visit Member Services.

    CRC Membership is not required for the following classes:

    • CPR
    • First Aid
    • Lifeguard Certification (certification for employment at the CRC)
    • Seminars
    Passes to the CRC are required in order to take these G.I.T. FIT classes.


Registration

  • Registration is during first two weeks of the semester; however, we are now offering EARLY REGISTRATION the month prior to the semester. CRC members can register for G.I.T. FIT classes at the Information Services desk, located at the entrance of the CRC.

    NOTE: Registration will continue throughout the semester.

    • Normal business hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
    • Method of payment is check, VISA/MC, or Buzz card (NO CASH).
    • All registrants must complete the Assumption of Risk Form (Liability Waiver) for all classes. Simply download the form, complete it and bring it with you when registering

  • Boxing for Beginners

    Box with Amateur boxer and kick boxer, Natalie Hall and learn about the basic four punches, proper footwork, punch combinations, and overall technique. The class offers a real workout through "bag work" and rounds. This class will include a warm up, specific instructions, bag work, a cool down and abdominal exercises. Partner work will also be involved.

  • Golf for Business and Life

    Offered only to juniors, seniors, and graduate students, this class has been funded by a grant from the PGA and David Duval. Each participant will receive over $300.00 in instruction as well as a tee bag containing a towel, sleeve of balls, rulebook and more.

Refund Policy

  • The G.I.T. FIT Refund Policy is in effect for all G.I.T. FIT Classes. To receive a FULL REFUND, the request must be made within two days after the first class meeting, or one day prior to a class that meets less than three times. Refund requests made after the 2-day time period, but before the 3rd meeting of the class, will receive a 50% refund. Requests made after the 3rd meeting of the class will be denied. ALL refunds are assessed a $5.00 handling fee. A receipt of purchase must accompany ALL refund requests.

    To apply for a refund, please visit the Member Services desk, located at the entrance of the CRC, and please follow the criteria below:

    • Provide a receipt of purchase. Checks must have our computer generated receipt (yellow copy), Visa/Master Card must have signed receipt, Buzz cards must have Buzz Machine receipt (yellow copy).
    • Fill out a Refund Request Form (completely)


    The G.I.T. FIT Coordinator has the final say in whether or not a refund will be awarded. If your refund is granted, it will either be credited to your card or a check request form will be filed.


Class Cancelation Policy

  • Occasionally, due to lack of participants, a class must be cancelled. Classes with fewer than 4 participants may be subject to cancellation. If you registered for a class that is cancelled, the we will notify you by the email address you supplied upon registration. If you did not supply an email address, attempts will be made to contact you by phone - however, please feel free to check in with us if you have not be contacted.
