OPENWATER SCUBA DIVING
The GTSCUBA Program at Georgia Tech is a collaborative program that is offered by the Georgia Tech Professional Education Department and the Campus Recreation Center. The program includes several courses at various levels, from beginner entry-level courses, up through DiveMaster and/or Master Diver. Ga Tech is a PADI affiliate and can support any of the PADI programs however we also provide certification through CMAS, IANTD and the National Safety Council.
Scuba 1 is an entry-level course for anyone who has not been previously certified to SCUBA dive. Certification is offered through the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). All materials are provided as part of the course costs as well as use of all required Snorkel and SCUBA gear.
Participants must be able to meet the minimum swimming requirements noted on the web site (i.e; swim 200 meters without stopping, tread water for 10 minutes and be able to swim underwater on a single breath-hold for 25 yards).
