Competition Pool and Diving Well Temporarily Closed

The competition pool and diving well at the Campus Recreation Center will be closed for two to four weeks for repairs starting the week of April 3rd. The Vernon D. and Helen D. Crawford Leisure Pool will remain open, but space will be limited for recreational swim. Please check updated schedules on our home page.

"The repairs to the facility are fully underway. In order for us to expedite the repairs the CRC management team must adjust all schedules in the Aquatic Center . We realize that this is an inconvenience to our customers but it is the reality of dealing with situations like this. I ask that all of our customers bear with us”, says Director Michael Edwards.

There was no structural damage to the pool or diving well; however both will be closed in order to repair the damage to the ceiling and acoustical spray from the recent flooding. During this time, the competition pool and diving well will be drained and the ceilings will be repainted. The repair process will include scuba divers installing braces to support the floor and the bulkheads, draining the pool, building a scaffolding, and placing a lift onto the scaffolding for painting. Once dismantled and filled, the pool will be chemically balanced and heated.

We will continue to provide updates on our website. Please visit www.crc.gatech.edu for more information.
