The Crawford Leisure Pool upon completion of the phase 2 of the Leisure Pool project.

Swimming is the only sport in the world that can save your life. At one time or another, you are bound to find yourself around water, whether you're on a boat, fishing, or lounging by the pool with friends. Being confident in the water and knowing how to swim could save your life. It is also a skill that you are never too young or too old to acquire.

The Campus Recreation Center (CRC) is committed to offering different swim programs to fit every interest level and need. CRC Aquatics and Fitness Coordinator, Stephanie Belcher said, “Water safety and knowing how to swim is important for everyone.  We offer beginner and intermediate level group swim lessons and private lessons for all levels of swimmers to feel confident and safe in the pool.” The CRC offers instructional swim programs for both members and non-members with classes available for children 5 years or older and adults.

You can schedule private, semi-private or group lessons to create the most inclusive and comfortable environment for you. Our group lessons are offered Mondays and Wednesday or Tuesdays and Thursdays to ensure that lessons are available to fit every schedule. The small group lessons consist of at most, six participants with four 30 minute sessions. Private classes are scheduled separately by contacting Stephanie Belcher. Semi-private classes consist of two students per instructor and include two 30 minute lessons. Private lessons are customized to the swimmers' abilities and include two thirty-minute lessons. Group lessons typically include six students per instructor.

Lessons start as early as the week of August 19 and run through the end of November. Go to crc.gatech.edu/lessons for cost and registration. Whether you are new to swimming or looking to fine-tune your stroke, the CRC is the right starting block for you!
