* This year scores were calculated using the mean and standard deviation to standardize individual results within each of the five activities. We feel that this method more accurately represents every individual’s performance by comparing competitors to each other rather than an arbitrary standard. We also feel that this method required the top finishers, who completed all five activities, to excel at multiple activities instead of just one.
