Global Running Day is sprinting towards us on June 6th, 2018! It is a day dedicated to being active and having fun with others.

Running is a great activity for cardiovascular health. It provides tremendous benefits to the body including increased blood circulation, greater bone density and it can potentially add up to three years to your life. Running can increase your physical endurance when traveling long distances and improves energy when dealing with day-to-day physical tasks.

The CRC offers several opportunities to hit the pavement on global running day. A climate controlled indoor track on the top floor of the CRC looks out onto skyline views of downtown Atlanta. The fitness floor offers 18 treadmills with LCD integrated television screens to help the miles fly by. The Roe Stamps Fields adjacent to the CRC offers a full track surrounding the intramural fields. Named after former SGA President, Tyler Brown the Tyler Brown Pi Mile is a 3.14 mile lit running trail through campus.

If you are looking for a running group to help keep you motivated and push you to new PR’s The Georgia Tech Runnin’ Wreck Club may be for you. They invite members of all running levels to join. They meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:30 pm across the street from the CRC.

Global Running Day is a great reminder to get up and get moving no matter what your fitness level may be. If you don’t know where to start the CRC offers personal training to help you reach any fitness goal you may have. For more information visit crc.gatech.edu. HAPPY RUNNING!
