Campus Recreation organizes and takes part of yearly and occasional special events that nurtures different dimensions of our Georgia Tech community well-being.

Member Appreciation Week

Every year the CRC holds a weeklong celebration when members get prizes and can participate in special events. Previous years events have included group bike rides, sunrise yoga, and stand-up paddle boarding. Members receive door prizes, opportunities to win gift certificates for massages, locker rental, and memberships, among others.

Halloween Holla 5K

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and family are welcome to participate in this annual October event. The race starts at the CRC and follows the Pi Mile course on campus. Awards are given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place man and woman finishers overall. Winners of the race and costume contest receive cool prizes.

Heart Health Week

February is Heart Health Month, and the CRC joins the celebration with a weeklong event which includes informal heart health talks, walks around Georgia Tech’s campus, and daily prizes for those who participate and complete the 30-minute suggested walks.

Georgia Tech Fitness Challenge

Where do you measure up against some of Georgia Tech's best athletes! The Georgia Tech Fitness Challenge involves 5 different different challenges: swim 500 yards (breast or sidestroke), push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and a 1.5 mile run. This is a FREE event.  Register in advance or drop in on the day of the event.  The first 150 eligible participants will get a commemorative t-shirt and compete for prizes.

NIRSA Regional Basketball Championship

Georgia Tech is proud to host the 2023 NIRSA Championship Series: Regional Basketball Championship in March 3-5. We look forward to having you come to Atlanta to compete against the best intramural and club teams in the country, while enjoying all that our city has to offer.

Pi Day 5K

We celebrate Pi Day every year with a 5k event that follows the Pi Mile course on campus. Participants receive T-shirts and awards are given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place man and woman finishers overall.

RecFest

At the beginning of each fall semester the CRC joins the Week of Welcome celebration with events that showcase  everything we have to offer from fitness classes to sport clubs to fun in the outdoors and everything in between!

Recreational Sports & Fitness Day

Every February 22, NIRSA members across North America celebrate Recreational Sports & Fitness Day, a commemoration of NIRSA's founding date and the vision to celebrate health, activity, competition, and inclusivity. The CRC joins the celebration with a full day of activities.

The Great Cardboard Boat Race

This is a new Campus Recreation aquatic event where teams will have 90-minutes to build a canoe out of cardboard, duct tape, and other supplies. They must then paddle their boat across the McAuley Aquatic Center pool (25 yards) with one crew member inside the boat. Come and build a boat, and see if it will float!
