Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center Swim Lessons Rules and Procedures

Lesson Registration
  • The student will not be registered until payment is received and waiver is signed and may not attend lessons prior to completing a full registration.
  • Registration cannot be re-opened or extended for any reason once closed.
  • In order to keep appropriate student to instructor ratios, additional spots cannot be added once a class is full.
Group Swim Lessons
  • Requests for refunds must be submitted via email to Stephanie Belcher at least 3 days prior to the start of a new session for consideration.
  • All approved refund requests will be charged a $5 service fee.
  • No refunds will be issued once the session has started.
  • Group lessons cannot be rescheduled or made up. Missed lessons are considered forfeited.
  • Participants are only eligible to attend times/days they are specifically registered for and may not transfer between classes. For example, if registered for the Mon/Wed 6pm class, you are not able to attend the Tues/Thurs 6 p.m. class.
Private Swim Lessons
  • All lessons are 30 minutes in length unless the participant coordinates with the coach to utilize both lessons back to back for a one-hour lesson. Hour long lessons are considered 2 lessons.
  • Private lessons may be rescheduled prior to 24 hours before the scheduled lesson begins. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are considered forfeited.
  • If a participant is more than 10 minutes late or does not show up to a lesson the lesson will be considered forfeited and the lesson cannot be made up or refunded.
  • Lessons must conclude at their scheduled end time and cannot be extended due to late arrivals. For example, if a participant arrives 15 minutes late to a thirty minute 12:00 lesson, they will receive instruction from 12:15-12:30.
  • All approved private lesson refund requests will be assessed a $5 service fee unless there is not a coach available for lessons at the preferred time
Other
  • During the swim lessons all parents/guardians and family are encouraged to use seating in the H2O café within sight of the Leisure Pool. Parents and/or guardians are required to be on the pool deck at the conclusion of the lessons and may not leave the facility during the lesson time. Siblings of swim lesson participants may only use the pool if they are accompanied by a parent with a current CRC membership.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for escorting youth participants to the restroom during lessons if necessary.
  • Lessons will be made up or refunds will be issued if they are canceled by the CRC due to an unforeseen circumstance such as weather or a pool closure.
